Billing and Insurance

Learn more about billing, billing for tests, insurance plans, Medicare coverage, and ABN waivers.

Billing: All insurance co-payments and deductibles are due at the time of service. If we do not have a contracted arrangement with your insurance plan, you will be expected to pay in-full at the time of service. Billing questions may be directed to the Centralized Business Office at (704) 384-7840 weekdays from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Billing for Tests: Laboratory testing and other tests performed outside our office will be billed by the entity performing the test.
Insurance Plans: We accept most major insurance plans. Please contact your insurance carrier to confirm that Ballantyne Medical Group is a provider.
Medical Coverage: We do accept and file Medicare for our patients.
ABN Waivers: Some tests deemed necessary for your care may not be covered by Medicare or your insurance company. In this case, you will be informed of the test and the reasons for performing it. You will then be asked to sign an ABN waiver stating that possibility of non-coverage was explained and that you may be billed for the test. ABN waivers are specific for Medicare.
