I believe strongly in the role of preventative medicine in a person's overall health from childhood, through adolescence and into adulthood. Pediatricians have the unique opportunity to influence the lifelong health habits of children and effectively decrease the incidence of diabetes, heart disease and many other problems later in life. We engage our patients to become active, knowledgeable participants in their own healthcare. Pediatric medicine, from the care of the two day old to the twenty year old is about making sure a child starts off on the right foot. To that end, careful attention to developmental milestones, timely physicals and a strong, long term relationship with children and their families is essential to our practice.
