What if I have a medical emergency after hours?
Regardless of the day or time, if you or your child has a medical emergency even if our office is closed, you have access to qualified medical staff. Simply call our office at 704-384-8720 and a registered nurse will assist you. Remember to dial 911 for a life-threatening emergencies.
What if I have a general health question?
You may contact our highly knowledgable Triage nurse during our office hours. She is available to assist with any Adult or Pediatric question.
Which holidays are the office closed?
The office is closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
What are the office hours?
We are open Monday - Friday from 8am -4:30pm. Our office is closed from 12pm - 1pm for lunch, this includes our telephones. We are open Saturday 9am - 11am for sick pediatric patients only.
What if I am late for my appointment?
Patients arriving 15 minutes late for their scheduled appointment, will be asked to reschedule. This ensures that all patients are seen in a timely manner.
What if I miss my appointment?
Our office requires notification of appointment cancellations at least 24 hours in advance. If you miss three appointments, without cancelling, it is the physician's policy to dismiss you from our practice. If you are a NEW patient and miss your appointment, you will be discharged from our practice.
Are you accepting new patients?
At this time, Dr. Jayne, Dr. Barrocas and Dr. Ferdinands are accepting new pediatric patients. Drs. Jayne and Barrocas are accepting new adult patients.
What is your procedure for new patients?
First, contact your previous provider and obtain a copy of your medical records. Second, schedule an appointment for a physical with one of our physicians. This will establish you as a patient in our practice. Third, arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment in order to complete the necessary paperwork. Fourth, be sure to bring a list of all your current medications. If you become ill prior to your physical appointment, contact our office to schedule a sick visit.
I would like to see a specialist. What do I do?
Cotact your insurance carrier and verify your benefits. Some plans require that you see your primary care physician first in order to receive a referral. If your insurance does not require an refferal, established patients may contact our office to obtain a specialist recommendation.
What types of health insurance plans do you accept?
For your convenience, we file most types of insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid. As of September 1, 2005, our office is closed to new Medicaid patients. For a complete list of insurance companies and accepted plans, please visit our "Billing and Insurance" page. You may also call the customer service phone number on your insurance card that our practice participates with your plan.
What other services are offered?
We have on-site laboratory, bone density scan and pre-natal visits. We also offer Saturday hours for our sick pediatric patients. Please contact our office to schedule an appointment.
What are the on-site lab hours?
Our lab is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm, daily. Please contact the lab at 704-384-8726 if you would like to make an appointment between 12pm and 2pm.
