Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you for visiting our FAQ page. We hope this will answer some common questions you may have about our practice
What do I do if my child gets sick and the office is closed?
Simply call our main office number, 704-384-8600 for the Charlotte office and 704-384-1440 for the Pineville office. We have an answering service and nursing triage service which can help you with any questions or concerns when the office is closed. We always have a physician available through the nursing triage service anytime the office is closed.
What do I do if my child gets sick over the weekend or on a Holiday?
Because we believe it is important for children to have consistent health care from their regular healthcare providers we offer office hours on Saturday and Sunday morning, by appointment, for our patients who are sick. You may call on Saturday or Sunday morning to schedule an appointment for the same day. We are also available on Holidays. Please call our office for hours and appointments. The only two days our office closes are Thanksgiving day and Christmas day. Please remember we are still available to you through the answering service and nursing triage service both of these holidays.
What I do if I need a refill on medications over the weekend?
We ask you to call during the week for routine prescription refills. However, we do not want children to suffer over the weekend or have an unnecessary trip to the emergency department. We will refill emergency medications patients over the weekend or see them in the office if needed
Can my child be seen the same day I call?
In most cases we can see a sick patient the same day you call. During the busy winter months we may need to offer you a work-in appointment with some waiting time once you arrive at our office.
What should I bring to my child’s appointment?
Please bring a current insurance card to every office visit. We also need a current list of all medications, prescription or over the counter as well as any vitamins or supplements. New patients need to bring their current vaccine information. Established patients need to provide information about any vaccines they may have received elsewhere.
